Bill Good Show Interview – Education For Longboarders

It’s one thing to get a call from the media for a sound bite or a quote, but live is a bit unnerving sometimes. Got to be careful with your words or you can get in trouble fast. With something like longboarding, there’s a whole community of skaters counting on me not to blow it any worse then the situation already is.

Ultimately, I believe bans will do nothing, we need a strong public-private partnerships to communicate and educate for success.

King of Kona 2014

King of Kona was everything I hoped it would be, even with cracked ribs. 3 days of non-stop, around the clock, raw skateboarding.

This years’ event expanded on the success of the inaugural 2013 event by adding more food and carnage with BBQ going around the clock and a King of the Road style score card that pushed riders to not only nail tricks, but get rad and be a little stupid. I got the stupid end of the stick with organizer, Rayne team rider and homie Cam Frazier adding me to the list in a “wrestle the Papa and win” 5 point challenge.

Surf Expo 2014

Each trade show has it’s own flavor. If AGENDA is a bit California bro-down with most being too cool to really network, then ISPO is a bit toned down Oktoberfest with most too drunk to remember networking. Surf Expo hovers in some middle earth with the best of both worlds and throw in some tight, tanned, bikini clad lady bits walking all over the place as a bonus.

AGENDA 2014

It’s trade show time again. I really like AGENDA because it brings out a lot of riders who live in California and so there’s a lot of high-fives from homies all day. I also like AGENDA for the Berrics which brings out a ton of skaters from street-mainstream – I’m a fan boy sometimes. This was a big year for Rayne. I secured a distribution agreement with NHS Inc, launching at AGENDA, and they were dropping their new Star Wars boards which were going to be a huge draw.
