Vote for Flatspot Longboard Shop: Small Business BC Awards 2016

Flatspot Longboard Shop is now 3 years old! We missed out on the Small Business BC Awards by only a small margin last year and are hoping to score a win this time around. Your vote helps!

Mischa Chandler, Founder and Managing Partner of Flatspot, is both a friend and now we’re partners. After working with Flatspot as a consultant in their first two years, I have now joined on to support them as a partner as I believe a strong local shop makes for an even stronger community.

Please have a look at the Small Business BC Awards currently under way. If you agree, please show Flatspot your support. Skateboard retail is really about skateboard community and Mischa and Flatspot put it first as part of operating the shop.

Skate[Slate] President Interview with Thane Mag

Gbemi is still putting out some the best interviews with his blogs All Around Skate and Thane Magazine. I’m not just saying that because I have had a few interviews with him now, but because he consistently and without thanks is creating content focused on simply just being stoked on skating.

Check the link for the full interview.

Joining the Skate[Slate] Team

After a hiatus from formal employment and a focus on local shops, events and the community at large, I’m stoked to announce that I have joined forces with Skate[Slate] and will be helping lead and learn with an incredibly talented team. Interview in Sauder Viewpoints

This Spring I was fortunate enough to get a call from the UBC Sauder School of Business where I did my MBA.

Viewpoints was doing an article called “A Motto For Life” on Tuum Est, the schools motto since 1915. The idea is that your education, your opportunities, your adventures are, up to you. I am honoured to have been contacted.

Here’s a link to the Magazine’s Spring Issue on Issuu –  I am on pages 18/19: http://issuu.com/sauder-viewpoints/docs/spring2013/20

Whose an MBA Grad? This Guy!

After a couple years of long weeks, late nights, frustrating cases, endless travel and probably a few to many drinks, I have now officially graduated from the Sauder MBA and can get a job doing the same thing 🙂 (They might even pay me!)

Shout out to the Graduating Class! Congrats to all of you and all the best on your present and future endeavours.

Full list of grads if you…
